Has any body got Sky broadband in the UK on here, if so anybody using a different modem then the one supplied by Sky?
My internet speed has decreased from 2.5mb down to about 0.3mb in the past month.

I got a letter saying that my Unlimited Broadband connection was getting upgraded soon, that was a month ago and it has stayed at around 0.3-0.4 for the past month which means the connection has got worse by 2mb!!!
I have tried reseting the Modem that sky have supplied me with but I get no speed bump back up, I used to no probs. Very strange.
When setting up the other Draytek router was it just a matter of inputing the sky password for the account into it?

In the Draytek I have username is like this: (12 digits)@skydsl
I forget now how I got set up, but I think the first bit is the MAC address of the Sky router?

I phoned sky and they said that I had to use the Router they supplied when I subscribed to their service. They wouldn't give me an internet connection USERNAME or PASSWORD
Did you also put in a password code too?

Well they say that but it's up to you what you use, and any good router works fine if you can work out the username/password. If you want them to troubleshoot your setup you will probably have to connect the Sky router temporarily.
You have to get the ID off the router (I cant remember which one it is right now, but if you Google for discussion forums on 'sky bb username' etc, you'll find instructions (thats what I did). If I can find my Sky router I'll see which number it is. I thought they did supply an account password.... will have to check...

I had sky in my last place. It was shit, to be honest.
Connection would bottom out completely at random times, with no explanation from Sky.
Waiting for my 8meg BE connection, the only ISP I've researched where negative reviews are in the minority.
