You use to be able to type in the x and y coordinates, and width and height of an object in the properties and transform panel.
Now there's this horrid thing where you drag your mouse left and right to change the numbers. Or double click to edit the numbers.
1) Is this Adobe's idea of an amusing prank?
2) How do you get rid of it?

also, double-click the values in the transform palette to enter whatever you like rather than drag to alter.

Cheers for that.
Can't help but wonder what they were thinking...

I can hear it now:
UI Design Wizard #1: “Guys! The user wants to input numeric values in this box. Should we use a text input?”
UI Design Wizard #2: “Stop—what about a slider? That might be most advantageous! Or perhaps a numeric stepper?”
Marketing Guy: “You guys have no imagination. Imagine if we made the numbers blue, and unselectable, and you have to CLICK AND DRAG YOUR MOUSE left and right to CHANGE THE F**KING NUMBERS!”
UI Design Wizards 1, 2 and Marketing Guy: “High five! Synergistic innovation!”

Actually its trying to copy the After Effects numeric control which is fucking wicked. Of course it falls flat on its face because the Flash team also added stupid shit like using a mouse wheel to change values... YEAH GREAT IDEA WHEN THERES SO MUCH SCROLLING IN THE FLASH PANELS so now I can't even use my wheel to scroll them I have to use the fucking scrollbar which they also made smaller which is just like another kick in the balls when your already on the floor. The inputs are buggy by the way too, in some circumstances they ignore your input. If anyone needed proof that no fucker on the Flash team actually uses the IDE anymore, this is it.
Oh well looking forward to CS5 to fix these issues, because Adobe don't do point releases for UI stuff

Look I hate to go on, but I'm back here using CS4 again, and it is a righteous pile of stink. What the hell happened? So much really basic stuff is wrong.
I'm going back to CS3.
That's all.
