With people downloading iPhone apps like crazy, I'm surprised we haven't heard of an app virus on one of the free apps.

I'm surprised there isn't a Herpes app. Scratch the screen to treat.

What would be the idea? Steal people's info?
I think Apple has a pretty hardcore review process, so that may be the reason.

Apps get fully reviewed before being accepted. You can't just install anything on it unless you jailbreak it.

I don't know the specifics but I suspect the official APIs prevent you from doing anything malicious (Java web APIs have done this for many years so there is good experience with this). Part of the review process is to ensure you adhere rigidly to the official APIs.

Seeing how it would only work on jailbroken phones,
who's to say Apple, or AT&T, haven't made/implemented one?Ok, I'll take of my tinfoil and carrots now.
