I wouldn't mind seeing Kimbo vs. Houston Alexander or even Chuck Liddell, brawler stand up guys he could throw down with... Or wait, Kimbo vs. the axe murder...Two mo'fo'in gorillas...

Terrible season, reminiscent of Season 2's heavyweights. Dana does not know how to scout out decent HW prospects. You can see just how padded this season was in hopes of propelling Kimbo, who is all presence and zero force.
That said, there are a few dark horses on this season. Hint: The "short" guy with glasses.

Kimbo wanted a beard protection clause in the house to stop people who might have played a prank on him shaving his beard off. Also he was training one day and part of his personality is that he will not tap ever, so one guy was wrenching his arm and kimbo wouldn't tap so his arm got fucked up, kimbo went to his car and got a gun then came back in because he thought the dude was trying to properly hurt him and end his carreer !!!!!.
If you look at early shamrock fights in pancrase you can see his heel hooks are fucking way over the top vicious, shamrock is another prick.

fighting cool!

Well that was fucking boring. Wasn't impressed nelson at all either. Kimbo looked sharper, he was just clueless about what to do on the ground.
How does this show work anyway? How do guys get eliminated?
- Who won? Can't be bothered to watch or check it out.Andrew_D

Yeah I missed it too, fill me in, TBO. :D

Nelson won by TKO in 2nd round, basically by laying his 265 odd pounds across kimbo's chest in a full side mount and doing nothing particularly interesting afterwards. Kimbo did a stellar job of burying he head in Nelson's hip and not much else, letting Nelson rain a couple of ineffectual punches on top of Kimbo's head to no visible effect. Fight was stopped because Kimbo couldn't get out from under Nelson and wasn't doing anything.
Pretty lame. Kimbo definitely looked sharper stand up though. Had zero ground game, except one really interesting attempt at a reversal using the fence to ladder over Nelson in the first. Didn't work, but points for creativity I suppose.
- Looked like both didn't want to lose the fight as opposed to someone wanting to win it.TheBlueOne
- That's disappointing. Glad I wasn't watching.ismith

I thought Kimbo had retired.
I put out a challenge for him to come and taste my knuckle pies and he announced his retirement almost immediately afterwards.

I saw a quote on Sherdog.com by Kimbo saying that was his best fight to date and that he's focusing on his fight in December for the TUF final. I respect the man or any of them on the show, but he's not UFC material.
- Well, it was probably his best opponent to date, and that's why he feels that wayTheBlueOne

I like Kimbo, or at least I like the Kimbo that shows up when the camera is on. He IS a hustler, so that might be a front as well..and knew and trained with a couple of cats from the South Bronx back in the day who were similar. They would drop crazy stuff like Kimbo did during this episode, the "My enemy is 'inna me'. See my enemy is 'in me'. Do you understand?" It's endearing to a point, but about as deep as a puddle after a drizzle in July. It's the same way these ghetto cats would read Sun Tzu and compare it to Wu-Tang records and suddenly think they could school you on strategy or some shit. That kinda shit works on the dumb, easily impressionable people. It's a hustlers game. But I appreciate a good, well played hustle...there's an art to it.
At least Kimbo has a personality though, which 98% of these guys don't have. the MMA game is now a major sport so skill at the game is really only one part of the equation, you need that marketable personality.
Kimbo's got a decent stand up game, and the apparent willingness to learn, but even during the show last night when he wa stalking to the other big tall fighter dude he was like "Oh man they keep throwing new things at me to learn, it's like college.." I think he has the heart to be there, but he just doesn't have the mindset to learn new things, he's locked into how he defines himself. He's also a bit long in the tooth to operate at that level. He's only doing half the equation. Sad part is it's the harder part he seems to have conquered.
I do bet that Kimbo would make a great coach though.
- I thought his "inna me" bit was quite poignant. He isn't articulate enough to properly express himselfKhurram
- otherwise it's these kind of realisations of a man who needs the daily motivation to stay in his sport that maketh the athleteKhurram
- athlete. one.Khurram
- not undermining what he was getting at or it's utility, just saying it's not really that deep.TheBlueOne

chossy who do you think will win? I recon Nelson wins it but Kimbo puts on a good performance. nelson is a fat fuck
- Kimbo. It will go a long way and get a bit romantic, lots of cuddling etc, but Nelson will collapse first.Orbit
- chossy0
Yeah, Nelson is a prick, arrogant and doesn't like being coached. Kimbo should win it, Roys stand up is average and Kimbo looks to be getting better at ground defense and keeping the fight standing.
I think kimbo will win this TUF, clearly the only test is roy and the other tall black guy who does that spinning back fist we all saw in episode one, if kimbo gets past roy then everyone else will be a cake walk.

gotta like kimbo... he's just a straight up, humble guy trying to survive and do his thing..
he's not full of himself or a trash talker like many of these other guys...
but hes a streetfighter... hes NOT an MMA fighter and knowing this, you have to know he's an underdog... he's learning on the fly...
but what i dont get is, what the fuck was he doing for the last 1-2 years training with bas rutten?
the guy was fighting in MMA for a while but has absolutely zero ground skills....
he should watch crocop, chuck and other strikers... he could learn a lot.
- chossy0
Kimbo has six kids, I bet his wife didn't have any choice in the matter.....

What ever happened to the guy he fought in a backyard on youtube where his eyes were hanging out?
- soynutz70
agreed. LAME

..and rampage and rashad are shitty, uninteresting coaches.
- Dana white could sell ice to Eskimos. Although, if the sport doesn't live up to his hype, it won't mean shit.Andrew_D
- Rampage is terrible. Any iota of respect i had for him has totally vanished with the last couple episodes. dumbassbaseline_shift
- I totally disagree. I LOVE Rampage. He's got tons of personality and he's a great fighter.chuparosa

I am completely Ignorant to the sport but who is "the best"?
- depends on the weight class. My vote is for Anderson Silva.baseline_shift
- GSP?TheBlueOne
- Lyoto Machida might be very soon.TheBlueOne
- Agreed. Becoming a big fan of Machida. I really hope Silva does well at 205. Machida Silva is a dream matchupbaseline_shift

^ Feder Emenlianenko, Anderson Silva, George St Pierre
- yeah, St Pierre too. Tough to say about Fedor these days. the UFC has all the heavies...baseline_shift
