I have worked for 20 or so different companies over the years...I am planning on moving to the US and taking up a full time roll...I have been asked my a recruiter to put together a resume...but most of my work has been direct for brands or 2-3 month contracts maybe less...I am thinking that might look dodgie on a resume...does any one have an example of what a freelancers resume look like? how do you put down all the places you worked for with out looking like you lost a job every couple of months...also don't want my resume to look too long

You might just put one job position -- freelancing under whatever name/brand you use, and then do a break down beneath/as-part-of-that where you list your biggest clients and talk about the work done for each.
