Had an Arai Condor, nice and comfy. Took a dint a few months ago, did the job. Now got a Shoei, like it much better.
Just try some on in the bike shop. Best to judge yourself. But I wouldn't trust anything open face or under £100.

I have had good luck with Scorpion for full face helmets, even crash tested one.
Your best bet is to goto a dealer and try everything on, different companies fit different head shapes (round, oblong ect). Find the helmet you like in the right size, then get online and find it cheaper.

I've seen some dude around town wearing a shogun helmet with a silver skeletor mask around town. It scares the hell out of me each time i see him.

What type of riding will you be doing?
I recommend a full face regardless, but I prefer the motocross open face style over the closed face 'road' style. With the moto cross style you can switch up your sunglasses/goggles much easier than changing the plastic slide. They are much cooler [temp] in the summer. I recommend a white helmet as it is the most visable.
