I think jimbo has a good question here!
I.e., how to keep things from looking dingy on the web?
- i_monk0
Everyone should switch back to print. Web is old news, print is hot shit.
Fire all your web designers and hire print designers today!

seen this come up a lot on here over the years. personally i've never had a problem with sRGB in photoshop and saving for the web using image ready (or whatever it is now in CS3). looks the same to me as a jpg / png etc as it does a PSD.

You may (or may not) find this article helpful. Thanks to Scott for making this accessible.

I still don't get it.
I have a monitor profile on my MacBook.
I have a working space in PS (sRGB)
I have a profile for the image I'm working on (sRGB)
I save for web (convert to sRGB is checked)
AND THE COLOUR IS STILL DIFFERENT!

You should convert to sRGB before save for web (Edit ->> Convert to Profile). Don't rely on the convert to sRGB that is within the save for web options.

Actually I think this solved it: http://www.viget.com/inspire/the…
But it is quite the opposite of what the other guy was saying, and he had a lot more examples and an uglier homepage (sign of prefessionalism, not kidding).
- This is dodgy, but will work some of the time. Not best practice, IMHO.duckofrubber
