I've actually seen people register a domain out of pure revenge, but the person they were targeting never had the ability to stop it. Can a domain name by itself be illegal?

So let me get this straight, the guy who gets paid a probably large salary, and with the backing of one of the mist prolific news media corporation on the planet, who broadacsts nightly for two or three hours complete and utter fabrications about non-existent communist and nazi bogeymen who are out to rape your wives and lock all americans in concentration camps while giving California back to Mexico, who applauds guys showing up with assault rifles to political rallies...THIS guy is upset because some anonymous douche dropped $10 for a domain name and $4 a month on hosting that "defames" him?
This guys entire career is about defaming other people with the backing of the oligarchy.

Putting aside the politics of it (since this ain't the politics thread after all), does anyone think this is kinda weird?
Beck's name is in the process of being trademarked in the US. While most of the "goods and services" associated with the name are obvious ones like DVDs and books containing Beck's special brand of commentary, the mark is also reserved for use on "cups, ice buckets, mugs, non-metal piggy banks, ceramic and porcelain holiday ornaments."
So does this mean we can all trademark our names? Or only rich TV show hosts?

Frankly, this is awesome. I fucking hate Glenn Beck to the core. Opportunistic douche who has yet to deny the allegation that he raped and murdered a young girl in 1990.
