Has anyone come across any good books covering brand identity? I'm looking for books that show examples of how the identity extends across multiple elements and mediums. Not just pretty logos shown out of context.

Anyone?

brand books or brand guidelines?

Not sure about dedicated books on brand identity, at least not in the show-and-tell sense. Logo Lounge always has sections from brief to final logo/identity with applications. Usually it's a substantial part of the book.

"Also included is a case study section, concentrating on logo application and development."
There's 13 different case studies in the book from DKNY, Corbis, Minicooper to the Houston Rockets. Over a 100 pages of cases studies roughly.
- This book is actually really decent. I highly recommend it just for the case studies.********

- I looked at these on Amazon. Unfortunately they don't seem to cover what I'm looking for.marcostill

look for some of the victionary books on identity.
you are better off just checking out websites of branding firms. it's not as dated as a lot of the case studies in these books.

monographs are good too.
