Anyone having any major issues with the snow leopard? Overall, I strongly recommend the upgrade as my imac seems much much snappier (core 2 duo, 4 gb of ram, first gen aluminum)... There are several small, but very noticeable difference... I.E.>>>> Shut down and reboot time is almost twice as fast... And lets not forget about quicktime, luv the new interface, seems to play almost anything and preview virtually any porn, I mean vids very quickly... New dock features are nice for navigation and file preview... Doesn't seem to support CS3 though...

Nice.
I got a new 24"imac like 3 weeks ago. Think i can get an upgrade out of apple?

I believe it is only $10 for the upgrade if you bought a new imac after June or something... Fo serious, makes a big difference for a minor tweaking of their OSX. Support 64bit appz and such too... My imac maxes out at 4gb, but believe there is performance increases with more than 4gb for additional performance due to recoding and grand central, etc... Mac Rumors has all the juicy tech spec shiznat...

So, there's no CS3 support whatsoever!!???!?! What kinda crap is that??!
- CS3 will workok_not_ok
- No, CS3 isn't tested by Adobe on Snow Leopard.... It's not Apple's job to test every single app made for it.xcreonx
- I'm getting my copy in a few days. We'll see...Didsomething

Just finished the upgrade this morning. Did the upgrade, not clean install.
I must say, Safari is zooming right now. It's nuts how much faster it opened and how fast pages are changing.
Looks like it freed up somewhere around 8GB in overall hard drive space, as advertised. Very nice! I had about 20 GB free before install, removed some old stuff, and after install I'm at 31GB free.

did u guys get the $30 one or the $170 one?

The $30, are you kidding? Who needs the $170 version?

$30...
As for me, I'm only running into a few font issues... I think it is the font management software though. Time will tell.

I installed it last night and I'm loving it so far. FYI, you can do a clean install with the $30 upgrade disc!

All around great day for me software wise. Snow Leopard has really sped things up, and also just upgraded to Logic 9 which completely rules on account of the new guitar amp and pedalboard features.
Yay for me!

i do have major issues
font issuesi use font explorer x for font management and that seems to be where things went wrong for me
after the installation/upgrade i noticed in font explorer that about half of the system font files were now missing. i went from i think 300 something to 146 fonts total in my system fonts
the font issues that came up:
address book randomly displaying everything as bold, italic and large fonts
mail displaying things as italics and bolds
firefox' interface font being screwed up and several websites displaying fonts incorrectlyi fixed the first 2 issues by cleaning the system font cache and system font folders
the firefox/websites issue seems to have something to do with duplicates. for example the system has a helvetica activated. i however have the adobe helveticas activated too. deactivating all the fonts of the same families as the ones in the system fonts seemed to have fixed a large chunk of this firefox font problem.
it's still a pain in the ass though, hopefully apple comes with a fix. i dont have the time to do a clean install
i was wondering if taking the standard system fonts folders off of another leopard installation and putting them on mines would work (if i would deactivate all my other fonts and perhaps throw font explorer off and reinstall)
other than this issue i like snow leopard
it's definitely faster
it gets a bit buggy in spaces/expose though

^^^ fixed this issue
i deactivated all my non-system fonts
this did the trick
so the issue is in duplicates i guess

Little snitch. Poor little snitch.
*shakes head. Hides emotions*- little snitch 2.1.3 works on SLVanDerFull
- 2.1.4 works fine for me, it's been blocking adobe's nonsense all dayjohfiner
