Adobe drops support for CS3 to work with Snow Leopard? Is this what i'm understanding from this?
- juhls0
Older versions may work, but if they don't, too bad for you.

No CS3 on Snow Leopard = No Set on Snow Leopard.

"General support for CS3 applications, the company notes, exists through Adobe's paid support program."
is it any wonder people pirate software?
Hey, this is great! I just picked up Snow leopard for $30. Fuck Yeah!
Oh, wait... Now I have to shell out $700 to upgrade to CS4.
Yeah, that seems fair.

so i guess cs2 is way out.

When is CS5 out, might do snow leopard and CS5 at the same time?

What's with the name? Are they running out of cats?
Next up: Arkansas Mountain Lion. It'll blow yer minds, yawl.

Adobe are rapidly fucking themselves over by rushing out shitty half baked overpriced releases like CS4, I bet CS4 is the most pirated CS ever and probably the most hated among its users but Adobe will just use this as an excuse to add even more protection for CS5 (the number of legitimate users who have had to reinstall and run cleaner programs because of that shit is ridiculous) instead of working hard to make it fucking solid and also pricing it sensibly in Europe.
- I agree with you, sir. If you were next to me, I would offer you some tobacco.flashbender
- adobe needs to go to subscription based software. problem solved.rosem
- Yeah subscription is a great idea toofiesta
- hey fiesta, I'd add you to my friends if it was possible on QBNjimbojones
- cs4 works liek a champ for me on vistadeathboy

I guess I'll be waiting a week or two to install Snow Leopard... hopefully people don't run into too many problems.

"Adobe announced this week that it has not tested and will not support its Creative Suite 3 line of products, including Photoshop CS3, on Apple's new Snow Leopard operating system."
i guess we will be doing the testing for them. CS4 sucks. looks fugly. CS3 was fair enough. There was nothing wrong with Flash 8. I still use AS1. It's 'readable' to a designer. AS2 and AS3 looks like gibberish. Flash has long gone bananas. I'm going back to the HB pencil and a piece of paper. a lot less £££ for your tools.

well don't even bother with CS4 on snow leopard:
"Nack said that there are a few minor problems with CS4 in Snow Leopard, though most of the suite works fine under Apple's new operating system. He said that problems remain in Flash panels and Adobe Drive/Version Cue."
Flipping joke = adobe.
bring back macromedia and freehand(which i still use on leopard, and almost works apart from the grid which is a bit iffy).

I really don't have any problems with CS4 outside of Flash (which I loathe and rarely deal with). I probably spend more time in Coda than anything else these days, so I really wouldn't know what the problems are (if any). Regardless, shitty job by Adobe not supporting CS3. I could understand no support of CS2, but to just disregard CS3 is a joke.

Adobe is being very short-sighted here. They're so busy seeing the immediate dollar signs of not supporting CS3 (people feeling compelled to upgrade), that they're blind to how not supporting CS3 will hurt them in the long run. It's a very Microsoft-esque decision.
- uhm why would it be an adobe issue. snowleopard doesnt support cs3...deathboy

well i guess i just saved $30 for now. guess i'll have to wait and hear about any install issues. really don't wanna upgrade to cs4, but i do like what snow leopard has to offer.
- digdre0
then fuck you apple, i'll stay with leopard
- jimbojones0
This shit is ridiculous, Adobe knows that more people use CS3 ATM. Oh, wait.
- crayz0
Life went to shit when adobe bought out Macromeida. they dominate the market and don't give a fuck.
