did this once a few years ago, got some specs from the printer based on approx dimension of the bus. Ended up with psd's (4) that were like 6gb's and took 20 mins to open/close/save...good times...
I can pull the job and check the exact specs if you need it.

I've done one. I worked off a template with all the proper specs (doors, windows, protrusions that inhibit). It came with a front sides back top corner panels ect.
I was supplied with the template. Worked in PS. I here companies that do the wrapping, have source files for most autos. If you know of one in your area they might provide you what you need. Might be available for purchase download online too.- guess I'm late to the game. I type slow. What they said ^^^MHDC

when i did one before i got a template from the printer that does the wrapping. It's usually not their first bus wrap so you should be able to get specs from the printers. I built everyhing 1/4 size and mostly used vector images if i can. Although, you still might need to take pictures of the bus because the client will obviously want to see a mock-up before hand. Good luck!

are you wrapping a bus that's been wrapped before?
if so, templates exist already. if it's a media buy, there's a template somewhere. you just need to track it down.
if it's just some random bus they have in their backyard or something, chances are you'll have to create a template yourself.

I can just see myself going out to the dock lands and measuring a bus...
All my client knows right now is the bus company and make/model of bus they're renting. I'll push him for more info/contacts.
- << yup. ask em for the printer's contact. theyll help you out.baseline_shift

The transit provider probably has an agreement with a printer. I'd talk to them and see what kind of specs and/or leads they have.

You're going to need some form of artwork from the bus. You may have to shoot it yourself, but most likely if they tell the the manufacturer you can get artwork for the elevations of the bus. Good luck, that sounds like a fun project.

I have a client who wants to wrap a bus. Anyone here have experience with that? Do they make die lines for buses? What sort of questions should I be asking/what do I need them to provide?
