Heres one thing that fucks me right off in the creative suite, the rulers in Photoshop & Indesign start at 0 in the bottom left hand side of the page but in Illustrator & Acrobat the 0 starts at the top left hand side of the page.
Any body know if this can be changed so they match Photoshop & Indesigns rulers?

Drag from the point where the rulers meet onto the canvas and it will set the origin point.
- you can have the 0 start wherever you want.imnotaplumber

In Illustrator if you option-click the top right corner of the rulers (empty square) you can drag the origin.
It will snap to the bottom corner of your artboard.
Looks like in CS4 with artboards it's a global ruler, rather than artboard-specific, which is limited... but it means you need to place your artboards at decent positions (eg. on multiples of 100px or 1000px) so the rulers still make sense.
If that makes sense...
- ^ what he said (no need for option-click, sorry). Damn the slow QBN postman.MrT

could I then save it to boot up illy with the rulers starting at 0 in the bottom left hand corner every time?
- why do you want to start at the bottom not the top? curiousimnotaplumber

Open either/both of the files highlighted in the screen shot. Go View > Show Rulers. Reset your origin to top left by dragging the previously mentioned intersecting square of the ruler bars to the top left corner of your page (it should snap). Save the file/s and quit Illy. Relaunch Illy and make a new document. The rulers should be visible and zero origin set to top left by default.
You should make back-up copies of these original files. You can edit a tonne of other defaults this way, but sometimes you end up corrupting the files.
