Chaz Jankel, also known as Chas Jankel was a keyboard player and guitarist with Ian Dury and the Blockheads, acting as a co-writer on the band's best-known songs during the British funk/new wave band's commercial peak in the late 1970s.
Jankel has several composer credits for films. He is best known to many people as the performer of the 1984's song "Number One" from the soundtrack of the film Real Genius.
