I'm working in CS3 photoshop on a mac and I'm using alot of smart objects. When I hand the PSD over to the programmers the smart objects do not work on their PC's.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue ?

perhaps they are using older versions of PS?

we need more info. smart objects from platform to platform work the same. if you both have the same version of photoshop there should be no problem.

We both have CS3.
and its a PSD.The error msg the programmers are getting is something about the original program that create the smart object doesn't exist. But they have illustrator on there machines... so i dont understand
- why do they need to open the smartobject?soynutz7
- do they also have illustrator cs3?lvl_13

Here is what happen...
I was given a design that was created in indesign that i needed to turn into a photoshop file. Some object were turned into smart objects. But I brought them into illustrator before I brought them into photoshop. So I wondering if photoshop is looking for indesign... because the programers do not have indesign on their machines. Although I brought the objects in from illustrator. SO I DUNNO!
- can you just copy and paste the smart object from illustrator into the psd again? and just get rid of the original smart object.lvl_13
- I didn't try that... it might workClaymantis
- thus eliminating any confusion or links back to an indesign doc.lvl_13
- Yea I will try that... thanks
