Term is essentially a commodity, whole isn't.
Term insurance, as long as the company is solvent, is a pricing game.
Whole life insurance is only good for situations where it works out to a tax advantage, and make sure you get a second opinion, as whole life insurance is often heavily commision sales oriented, attracting aggressive salespeople who've been known to, uh, stretch the truth.

I got mine through Northwestern. I started with 25 years of term, and recently converted some of it to whole life. Costs more per month, but it grows faster than any bank account, you can borrow against it at any time without penalty, and Northwestern has been solvent for 180 years or something—so they're pretty reliable. Doesn't grow like stocks can, but it's not like stock investments are a good idea these days anyway.
I honestly think whole life is one of the best and safest ways to invest right now, if it's the right plan/company.
- Agree. Especially if you go for super low risk investment options. It's unglamorous, but it's solid.TheBlueOne

Why do you need life insurance? Do you have a family?
