Indoor Rock Climbing?

Anyone do this?
The gym I go to has a killer indoor wall, 75 feet I think. It's free to use for members. I'd like to give something like this a try, always been a big interest of mine, but a couple questions:
How hard is it on your fingers? As a guitarist, would this be a nightmare on my fingers?
How difficult is it if I'm in moderate shape? I'm working out and running regularly, but curious about the overall muscle groups and begin demolished from it.

Amazing workout. If anything it will strengthen your fingers.

I used to do it for real. And ice climbing. It's probably more of a workout at the gym though with those totally vertical walls.

I used to rock climb a lot at Go Vertical in Philly. It never affected my guitar playing, as well. There is the possibility of getting a finger injured from climbing, but you should be fine. I just wouldn't recommend climbing right before a gig cause your fingers may be a bit tired to play.
As for muscle groups, climbing uses a lot of muscles that are not often used with standard exercise. Like anything, the more you do it, the more your body will adjust. As long as you keep the difficulty of the climb within your abilities, you should be a ok. :)

it's fun. there are typically routes of varying difficulty with holds of varying sizes from little fingertip things to fist-sized so you can choose what you're comfortable with and move up as you progress.

Love it! Used to go all the time when I was growing up. Not so much anymore but I have found a couple of people who still go now and it is really making me want to start back up again. It was a great workout. Id same i'm in average shape, you just have to slowly and gradually work yourself up to the harder stuff. Meaning don't start off with the over hangs or anything!

I used to really love doing this. Did it a lot when I was younger, if I remember I was reasonably good at it as a wirey young chap too.

I did it a lot in London and it is great.
It uses a lot of muscles you've not really worked out at the gym and at first, it'll be your forearms that go, not your fingers.
Highly recommend it.
