The thought just occurred to me that I don't know anyone who uses Quark anymore. Who here uses it / prefers it to InDesign?
Not hating, just curious.

A client still gushes over quark. She's the head of marketing, in-house at a large financial. Everytime we meet she wants to talk about quark.

I'm sure anything is better than Quark

Loads of text-heavy jobs for a bank in my previous job were all in Quark and needed updated and reflowed. :(
My boss from that place of employment STILL uses Freehand for EVERY layout, regardless of the amount of copy/pages to be included. Fucking MADNESS. Glad I'm not there anymore...

Quark is a giant turd.
That being said, it felt a lot less bloated and quicker than indesign does these days.

I'm always surprised to see design job postings with the requirement they know quark.

Interesting. Thanks for the comments. I don't have anything against Quark, but I picked up ID when it first came out (now I feel old). It had its share of bugs, but the integration with PS and Illy was great.
Cheers.

Love it for that lack-of-bulkyness. That and I never took the time to learn indesign. Been using quark for 10 years or so...

I still use quark for certain projects but i also use indesign too, but I am probably faster in quark only because ive used it forever.

Lots of printers use Quark to prep files before going to print.
