How was I going to get scammed if she was putting money in my Paypal account first?

Funny....
My gf and I have been looking to rent a new place and found a listing on craigslist from an Army soldier stationed in Africa with his family. Further emails uncovered that he was currently staying in a hospital in Nigeria due to a leg injury involving a bomb.
Along with all the red flags this guy's story threw up from his emails, we learned the real story when we visited the home in question and met the actual owner, looking to sell, not rent, and told us that other couples had been by with the same info from the same guy, whom she didn't know.........

perhaps say her paypal verification limit has ran out offer to pay even more and then try to make you use one of those money transfer things they scam through

tell her that you just inherited $1,000,000 and are looking for someone overseas with a paypal account to transfer the money to and that there is a 10% reward.

I can't help thinking about the unfortunate people in Nigeria who really are just trying to conduct business online but can't get any retailers/customers to take them serious! "No really, I just want to sell some books—I'm not trying to scam you!"
Must be a nightmare... plus the whole political instability, corruption, inadequate infrastructure, and poor macroeconomic management thing too.
