... and I think you're prettier than your work so far from what I've seen.

I probably don't have any room to talk....but... As said before, start with a grid.
Maybe rethink the colors for the site. What do you want to really stand out? Also, have you looked at your mock up on a monitor at 1024x768?
Most importantly, have fun, but be extremely meticulous before posting anything here.

Very useful points about the grid. I don't think you really considered it. If you don't know what grid is, check this out: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=grid+system…
And you need to ask yourself, who your users are and why they visit your site. Your job is to help them find what they need to know (and what you need them to know). So show off something meaningful right away - don't waste their time.
A slider for your work seems like a really bad idea. Go for something that'll give people a quick overview in stead.
And: Report to this thread. Post some changes! I warn you: Ignoring QBN feedback will not do you any good. :)
