And you need to ask yourself, who your users are and why they visit your site. Your job is to help them find what they need to know (and what you need them to know). So show off something meaningful right away - don't waste their time.
A slider for your work seems like a really bad idea. Go for something that'll give people a quick overview in stead.
And: Report to this thread. Post some changes! I warn you: Ignoring QBN feedback will not do you any good. :)
