96-2001 or so...i miss parties in oakland @ home base. those were the days.

15 years ago or so i went to a rave, took a pill, loved everyone, tranced out for about two hours, found the jungle room and from that point on it was just jungle and dnb exclusively. Never went back to the house/trance, no more rave. blame the pill. never danced so much.

I used to go as a kid, in Buenos Aires.
I remember one being done in a massive sports club and the main dancefloor was inside an olympic swimming pool, it was awesome.I have never danced with glowsticks and the only candy I had on me, was chewing gum.

- where I'm from raves are more underground, this thing had amazing fireworks effects and video cameras flying over the crowdMeeklo

I always wonder how many people I meet in the design/ technology world used to be into that stuff...I know just as many were more influenced by the punk or skateboarder kind of scene.

like wise, I always disliked the candy jacket/ costume thing, and for that reason I never really saw myself as a raver. I went to raves as a spectator as a kid, and I do gigs in the club scene as an adult.

I can remember walking out into the daylight at some place in brooklyn. It's like 2pm in the afternoon. We were partying for a day or two beforehand. Straight. Without sleeping. There were like 5 or 6 thousand other people doing the same thing.
And those stupid flared jeans that everyone wore, bell bottom like. Can't believe I wore that shit.
Damnit. Crazy. Good times.
