1- Push start on Mac Pro
2- it start, i hear the chime
3- screen's black, no video signal, mac doesn't start

plug it in, start up.

have you recharged the battery in the tower, you only need to do this every 3 years or so. the cable is with your startup items when you buy the tower. small, thin black cable that connects to the motherboard via a click-in plug. the manual tells you about it.

i had this same problem.
when you power up. take a look at the power light. what is it doing?

Turn off, connect to ur laptop with FireWire and press a key hold and reboot

yeah, if the machine is running but no display then it's going to be a faulty cable / monitor or graphics card.
also, the stuff i wrote above about charging the mac pro tower batter is complete bollocks. just in case someone is right this minute looking through their box and wondering where that fucking cable is lol!

Sounds like video card to me. Had something similar a while back
