on a 20 second look:
- "the pepsi dj collective" banner at the top is way too big.
- the dj section text layout is "how many trucks can we drive through this spacing? call in the convoy!"
- the yellow vs. red/pink color combo is irritating.
- the colors of the sub nav is nice. it should be used rather than the pepsi propaganda (even though it's pepsi...so i'm sure you are locked in).
- PLEASE REMOVE THIS IMAGE:
- the rollovers seem to stay on, even though i have rolled off the section.sorry so harsh. i can only imagine the politics behind a corporate blog site such as this...

Nice project...congrats on landing it.
My only critique is that although I like the artists, I don't have a total idea of what the site is all about. What is the Pepsi DJ Challenge thing? Doesn't really say.
In terms of the look and feel, this might have been out of your control, but I think it would be far more effective with the Pepsi colors pared back A LOT and have that branding in the background more.
For instance, Red Bull has had a lot of success promoting in this space, and their site is quite subtle - http://www.redbullmusicacademy.c…
- wow, that branding is definitely subdued. i have never seen that before, but not sure i would go back...but then again, that is probably 80% of the poulation
lvl_13 - probably 80% of the population to any of these sites.
i think that is why most corp sites fail.lvl_13 - haha, funny enough A-Trak is also on that siteukit

This is the bash over the head type of branding which really doesn't work.
To use an analogy – it is better to whisper sweet nothings in a lovers ear, than to yell at them from across the room.
Also - with flat colour backgrounds drop shadows and glows just look too unreal, especially if they aren't extremely subtle.

its ok i guess. seems like a good project to hemorrhage a bloated budget. actually, i closed it pretty fast, so i guess your content/site didn't interest me much, but good job on making a pepsi site.

IT"S FUCKING HUGE!!!!!
i'm guessing small budget and fast turnaround?
- Shaney0
big. must look massive on smaller resolutions.
Your "Follow top Dj's through blog updates, tweets and mixes. Join the conversation and share what you think is refreshing music" text is falling down in Chrome/Safari, looks like padding top not playing nice

Very Web 2.0

like, I don't even know what I'm looking at. Yeah, I see djs, but I feel a bit lost. I looked at the site and I was like... ok djs.. and pepsi... *crickets*

Everything is way too huge. Looks like it was designed on a 30" Cinema display. The average viewer of this site will be looking at it on a 1024 screen.
Looks a tad old-fashioned too... but guess this is what Pepsi wanted?
- Sorry didn't realise that everyone else covered the size issue before me.dajaniel

kinda on the terrible side of things I'd have to say..

i must agree about the hugeness of the thing. Iam on a 'small' 20 inch monitor and its kinda big.

a lot of blocks, very close together. If you make everything smaller (except the gaps between things) I think it would solve a lot of the issues mentioned above.
Also, some treatment of those photos might not be a bad idea. Just give them a color overlay or something to hide a blurry cameraphone photo.
those are 2 quick fixes..

i am not the target group

everything is too big.

I agree with the size of all the elements being too big, however it works great on my iPhone! ;-)
