I don't know if this is a faux pas on this board or not..since I'm new to using it.
If it is I'm sorry (can't blame a hungry kid from Jersey for trying).I'm looking for entry level Graphic Design work in New York City (and probably so is 6 million other people..I know).. does anyone have any contacts/links/advice/etc that is not on the Job Board
thank you!Thom Venier

Thom, I like your work, but your site isn't the most friendliest to navigate and there are some random blank pop up window's that are super annoying.
I know you weren't looking for a critique, but it's something you might want to think about when applying for jobs.
- +1 agree. the site needs workakrokdesign
- Thank you for the critique.
Where do these random blank pop ups happen? When you scroll over the squares pop up windows are suppsed to appear with the names of the projects.
I am always looking for critique, thank you for your concerns.
..also I believe the site won't work properly in IE.
My consideration for the site was to approach it aesthetically because it wasn't designed to hold a lot of content...but perhaps a redesign is in order!ThomVenier

freelance is the way to go! - You can hustle a lot more work and (i hate to say the word) 'network' much more effectively. i'm not in NYC, but freelance in the Midwest.
In fact, I just fired my first client a few days ago - MAN was that liberating.

start freelancing... then look for a fulltime, thats what I did. Came to NYC with nothing! stay on a couch for 2 weeks then moved into a place and slept on the floor for a month. I have a great fulltime now... but it took some pushing to get there
