Has anyone else noticied that no one actually ever uses an augmented reality website (webcam etc) they just look at the movie of it and go "wow, that's amazing, shame I don't have a webcam and can't be arsed to print something out"?

It's a gimmick until the point they have a mass market headset I can put on and watch shit fly across the room, check my e-mail walking down the street, ceiling cat pops out of the sky etc.

I've used it before.... I had to print something on paper and the webcam recognized it. Then a windmill popped out of the page and I could blow on it and spin the blades..... gotta find the link again and post it.

Went to a conference the other week with some examples of AR on show. The best example that I saw was used by one LEGO Store where kids could hold the box up to a camera and see on the screen what the toy would look like when it is fully built and in motion.
