i'm finally learning CSS so sorry if this is a dumb question....
can someone please tell me how to make the section on this page entitled "From the ranch to the coast" stretch to 100% of the height so there is no white space at the bottom of that section?

i tried following this, but it's just not working:

vertical-align: bottom; doesn't work on the footer?

you need to look into a "equal height columns" solution...pain the ass most of the time...
here is a js solution i have used in the past:

Just trying to look through the code... more descriptive div names would be helpful. I know it can be a pain, but even for yourself, when you revisit the code down the line, more descriptive names will help.

read this http://www.cssstickyfooter.com/ but don't use the any of the css that pertains to the footer (like the clearfix or the negative value of the margin-top)
so, all you should need is...
html, body, #wrap {height: 100%;}
body > #wrap {height: auto; min-height: 100%;}

CSS was made to suck in order for us to become well paid experts.

3. go fiddle yourselfleftwave - 1. No excuse
2. Keep Going

I am 5,328 pixels tall.
In print resolution, that's about 1' 5 3/4".

just tried the JS solution from estetic and it's still not working!
http://leftwave.com/indevelopmen…what's the problem here??

Actually.. CSS was made to suck, even if not for the reason I mentioned above (but to that effect).
Right now, nobody's answering, because a legion of QBN coders are in in the process of scratching their heads. In a table layout world you would have solved it intuitively in a sec.

a couple things- "onLoad" should be "onload", no cap L. xhtml is all lower-case tags and attributes. also, the script that function references is a 404, so that solves that mystery.
you also have a bunch of IDs that are duplicated throughout, which is a no-no. IDs can be used once, make it a class to re-use it.
you also seem to be missing some closing div tags, and the form on the page opens inside a p tag, but then closes outside of it.

CSS Solution.
You will probably have to put that background that repeats on the div that contains both columns, then set the position:relative;
then the position of the footer will have to go position:absolute; with bottom:0; and right:0; then set a padding-bottom on the content that is 'ranch to coast' the same height as the footer div.does that make sense?
- I'm not advocating using tables, but agree with this guy http://www.flownet.c… :)raf

okay.... finally got this to work:
http://www.projectseven.com/tuto…but, now there is about 300 pixels of extra height added to the bottom of the div called box1Rsub. anyone know why??
