Just wondering if there is a way of setting up Photoshop to insert a new layer or group below the current selected layer. It's default is to insert a layer above the current selected layer.
Usually I start designing something from the top, so you'd expect the associated layers to flow in the same manner.
With a new layer inserted above the current, you end up with all the top graphical elements at the bottom in the layers palette (of course you can rearrange them).
Is there a way to change this?

I think hold down ctrl while clicking the new layer button at the bottom of the layer palette. Puts the new layer underneath current one.
- oh wow, so it does! handy :)detritus
- Just tried that... it seems you are incorrectified. Either that or I am very dense.Spookytim
- and alt click to set properties before inclusion - also works in conjunction with alt. nice!detritus
- WHAT? Nairn, are you sure? It doesn't do it for me.

Doesn't matter if you're the worlds best designer with lots of trophies and awards to prove it. If I open you're photoshop file and have to spend two days reorganising and labeling layers just to make one simple amend ...then all those trophies and awards mean nowt to the likes of me!
