theres an s?
- yes, tilt your head to the left, its almost like a Superman "S"e-pill
- It looks like a lowercase cursive S, which doesn't really fit any blackletter I have ever seen ever.Countryman

what type of calligraphy is influencing your design???
- none. blackletter typography is.airey
- what region/ time period?Countryman

you say midievil, but there are so many midievil variations of calligraphy and blackletter, that I think you should try and narrow your field of influence. Might I recomend a nice bastarde or a fraktur??
- ie: use either of the links i put above.airey
- lol @ suggesting fraktur over his custom goodness. ps. it's 'medieval'max_prophet
- I am not saying to use a fraktur, that would be cheap. I am saying to study actual fraktur cuts & maybe get some inspiration. Just because you are inspired by something doesn't mean you need to copy it.Countryman

I'm real happy to hear this, bud. I've always loved your work, but felt your logo wasn't indicative of it. So, kudos, and I fully support the idea.
Second, I think you should consider something organic as your work feels very "free" and "unrestrained" and your typeography above, though angular, feels too rigid. Maybe that's a nice juxtaposition, I don't know. But your "Element" logo really works well for a sense of free-flowing unrestrained design.
Take from that what you like. Still bummed we didn't get a bierre in Paris. Next time.

ha, didn't have it in mind, but true, that's close to asahi -less with duvel- !
that said, it's interestin to see how they did the S .

Can't wait to see your new portfolio. I still miss the dark pilot mask with Buck 65 playing.

oh, you remember that one? :)
thanks btw.

try linking the gaps within the letters with thinner lines - like in epills image.

would it help to allow the s to go below the baseline? Let the bottom curve be a descender
- yes, and I would have more space to make the letter shape.dyspl
- right, and you have more flexibility with the angles you can take. Looks like a real good start though!baseline_shift

I like it...but I was thinking if you did something to pull that "s" into the design more. Maybe making it less sharp and more organic feeling. meh....just a thought.

I did not reworked it yet, since I have some freelance to finish.
but mmmh now reagarding some feedbacks I wonder if a more written logo would not suits better the works.
