the top right is drawing my eye to it, it looks like Arabic writing... cool!

look at the gallery in this site... click on the images... i think you can get very inspired by them as the direction you are going is similar...

look around at some similar options. i've always love virus type's Bastard although i've not once found a set of letters / words that look any good with it:
http://new.myfonts.com/fonts/vir…or a range of other blackletter fonts:
http://new.myfonts.com/tags/blac…(login and type your DYSPL dyspl to see the range effectively)

theres an s?
- yes, tilt your head to the left, its almost like a Superman "S"e-pill
- It looks like a lowercase cursive S, which doesn't really fit any blackletter I have ever seen ever.Countryman

what type of calligraphy is influencing your design???
- none. blackletter typography is.airey
- what region/ time period?Countryman

you say midievil, but there are so many midievil variations of calligraphy and blackletter, that I think you should try and narrow your field of influence. Might I recomend a nice bastarde or a fraktur??
- ie: use either of the links i put above.airey
- lol @ suggesting fraktur over his custom goodness. ps. it's 'medieval'max_prophet
- I am not saying to use a fraktur, that would be cheap. I am saying to study actual fraktur cuts & maybe get some inspiration. Just because you are inspired by something doesn't mean you need to copy it.Countryman

i actually can't read it. which would be a fail in my book.

I'm real happy to hear this, bud. I've always loved your work, but felt your logo wasn't indicative of it. So, kudos, and I fully support the idea.
Second, I think you should consider something organic as your work feels very "free" and "unrestrained" and your typeography above, though angular, feels too rigid. Maybe that's a nice juxtaposition, I don't know. But your "Element" logo really works well for a sense of free-flowing unrestrained design.
Take from that what you like. Still bummed we didn't get a bierre in Paris. Next time.

try linking the gaps within the letters with thinner lines - like in epills image.

thank you for the feedback guys.
era404 : you're right, and first I wanted something handwritten, I should stick with the original idea.
Looking at it this morning, I'm not so happy with it.... mmmhhhh..... I'll rework it or put in the bin!

^ yes better.
but the s is still wrong that. the 45° line should be a thin as the small line in the other letter, but then it looks weird.
aaaaaaaaaaah

Can't wait to see your new portfolio. I still miss the dark pilot mask with Buck 65 playing.
