yeah ornj, my as3 sucks, slowly working on it, if it wasn't for the IK on this project, i would have done it in as2 and would have been finished long ago.

Why are you checking load status with Event.ENTER_FRAME?

Looks like you are trying to use AS3 like it is AS2.

Lee does some a great easy to follow external swf preloader over at www.gotoandlearn.com - follow it real slow, lol :), and you'll never have any problems with these things again.

yeah, it's just a a matter of fixin the path

the preloader is probably referring to the base swf, which when you're loading it into another, already loaded swf, thinks the load has already happened and moves on or simply ignores the code flat out.
you'd be better of using a preloader in the main swf that gets used when necesary, although do whatever you feel more comfortable with.
