Anyone used Wordpress & a shopping cart plugin for an e-commerce site?

Yay or Nay?
Is for a simple fashion label. Thought would be a good excuse to learn WP.
(tried searching for this in Filter, though nothing came up)

i haven't used it with ecom myself but have heard it's great for it. i'm a huge wordpress 'pusher' as it's a massive app that most people simply don't have their head around yet. the updates (recently 2.8) seem to add more and more every time.
i'd jump on some of the wp user forums to discuss and specific plugins before you dive right in though.

May bug some fellas at a wp forum.

I played around with it, and it had some issues, however I was able to fix most of them and hack it up to do what I want, but I'd say that you need a decent knowledge of php. they have released updates since i've used it, so it may have improved. there are some helpful people on their forums, but that is essentially their only support. I also knew WP pretty well before trying it.
if you're jumping into wordpress my advice is to search for "naked" theme or sandbox and use those to theme from scratch.
and go to wordpress.com codex and read about the loop and how to do custom queries. learning how to pull stuff out of the db yourself by tag and category and whatnot will free you from thinking in "blog mode"

also, if you want to use a developer it's really cost effective compared to some other tech. i used odesk to hire one which was great but there's actually a few excellent qbn wp devs.

I've used this for a couple of projects now. and as long as the client isn't a fuckwit, it's brilliant. payment plugins are limited though. so you can't use it for any serious e-commerce project.
