is this made by 3d or photoshop? wondering how to made a image like this

either a bit of both, or someone who is very hand in photoshop.. you wouldn't have to do it in 3d although it probably be faster to do in 3d first and have a base render(s) to then manipulate.

http://psd.tutsplus.com/There are tutorials that address these techniques as well as links to collections of themed tuts as well. Understanding light, shadow, highlights, and so on is the key to creating this kind of imagery. Have fun!

looks like the couch and surrounding environment were done in 3D. the kid either a retouched photo or 2d illustration. and the panda is just a 2d photoshop insert.

3D, there is allot of nice ambient occlusion where the polys meet on the floor between the couch, light and dresser....
- it's easier to add fake reflections in photoshop, than rendering a sofa like that, IMOdyspl
- always best to render reflections in 3d to get the exact angles and render out a openEXR multi pass file and composit then tweekrock&roll
- did not say it was better, I said it was faster and easier. think about the money the guy get, and ask if the possible amount deserves hour of modeling and renderingdyspl

looks like a furniture shop, i guess its mostly photos
