It's very nice and playful but unfortunately one of the first things I picked up on was the genital nature of the H. It either looks like the guys dick is hanging out or he is ramming his hand up his ass and it's coming out the otherside.
However.. I am a 26 yr old Male living in the states. Will terminal cancer patients pick up on that? I don't know..
But, I think you could make this mark successful by not including the 'head' of the person. The cancer ribbon itself is an international symbol for cancer awareness (really any sort of health related awarness). Maybe work that a little bit. If nothing else I think the Hoca could stand on it's own as a strong wordmark.
- Most people don't go around looking for dicks. You should get yourself checked out ... of the closet.itsmitch
- im 35 yr old male in the sates and i still dont see cock in it... you guys seems to need sex..e-pill
- or get off the frikken inner nets and meet "women" they have vaginas.. like a taco...e-pill

looks really nice but right now I read IPOCA
- I could see how you could see that. I saw Hoca though.itsmitch

To me it doesn't read Hoca. It reads iloca. It is kinda playful... and coming from a spanish background myself I read this is as "i-crazy". It also feels a lil too cute for what it is meant to be for. It seems a lil more appropriate for packaging.
but it's not really that bad. it needs polishing and better placement of elements coz of the pee pee.
- I disagree.itsmitch
- i also disagree and im not spanish background so i dont see that... also you see cock..e-pill
- haha... jk vectormasked!!e-pill
- hey! I do branding at work! ;o)VectorMasked

Part of their reasoning for wanting Hoca by itself is that people don't always to let the world know that they are going to a cancer clinic, and using an acronym lets them hide this in a way.

I should probably reduce the horizontal in the H so that it doesn't look so much like a cock..
- omg dont listen to Vectormasked he is clearly on the hunt for man stuff!!!!e-pill
- i totally didnt see cock in it or im not looking for that i saw vagina...
e-pill - um..... don't embarrass him.

Yeah I'm messing with colours and the lettering does need cleaning up..I kind of chopped up several typefaces to do it and have yet to get it really balanced.
I can't draw for shit btw. lol

I think it's a very strong mark. It's well balanced, does convey hope and has a decent concept behind it. It would have to have a high brand awareness because as someone that doesn't know the brand (at all, I'm from the U.S.) I'm not quite sure what it is. You might want to make sure it balances well with a tag line since it might need one if used outside its target audience. FYI -- I noticed the human element right away but did not see the ribbon until you pointed it out. Question: Is the light blue a tint of the darker blue? Just wondering if it could be printed 2-color only.
- this is how i felt but itsmitch said it better than me... im still drunk and sleepy...e-pill

the weighting in the letters is all different - comapring the 'o' to the 'a' -
i like the idea of the cancer logo - but it seems that this is only a part of their business and maybe a little too superfluous for their identity - plus it also makes it look like a bloke having a piss!
you're on the right tracks with the hope, sincerity, humanity track tho - i do get that from it...
- e-pill0
also i think most people like me dont know what is the "obvious" "cancer ribbon" so i missed that but im sure for those involved in it will see it and love it....
- imnotadesigner0
looks good, the only thing I can say is that the 2 blues may be difficult to distinguish if printed. And the green is too forest green. The logomark is good but I would try exploring some other color variations.

i like it!!!!
the colours are bouncing around nicely making my eye follow the flow of the logo...great job!!!
... now i dont think cancer or medical or anything in that realm but i like the view... it looks professional and legit...
if that makes sense...

I've been working on this logo the last few days.
The company is a cancer clinic that does a lot of experimental/new treatments and deals with people who are at the end stages of their cancer. As a result their new brand needs to display a feeling of hope, sincerity, humanity etc. They do not want to feel clinical at all even though the company very much is that way.
I'm an interactive designer and don't do branding very often so I'm interested to see what you guys think.
Hoca stands for "Haematology & Oncology Clinics of Australia". I'm told the brand awareness is quite high in their target market, and they want to be remembered as Hoca and not a mouthful.
I've made an obvious play on the H, with the cancer ribbon and person as part of the logo..
