I've been poor since I set foot in this country so it doesn't mean shit to me.

laid off just over a month ago, the whole company. i took three weeks just to relax and think of some creative goals i'd like to accomplish in the next few months. i was completely exhausted after two years at my last job. i really just want to go back to art school, hah.

These economic collapses every 5-6 years are getting brutal, first after 9/11 and again now. Bubble and burst, the cycle repeats.
Getting sick of it.

My wife got laid off a few months ago, but now she's making more freelancing and she's finally taking her yoga instructor certification that she's been wanting to do for awhile.
I think sometimes a kick in the ass like this can be for the better.

Been gently asked to leave 2 times this year. Dunno if it's a special treatment of this country though. I'm still working at the last company that hired me. Crossing finger & toes.

No effect for me. But ad budgets are getting cut and there's a general sense of frugality. My GF works in architecture. Now that's an industry that's really hurting.

haven't really worked in the last 2 months, other than that not really feeling it yet.

I have been extremely fortunate so far, best year ever. I wonder how long it will last?

dodged 3 rounds of layoffs, damn greenspan and his HOPE that people would treat low interest rates responsibly.

We havent had as many "good" clients but no lack of work.. have had to hire a lot of freelance help lately.

Clients are a little more cautious, but all in all it's business as usual.
