hahaha, hey Monospaced. Whilst I imagine these are awesome bands to watch live, the crowd DO look half asleep. It looks like there was no atmosphere and everyone is just hangin' around. I can see about 4 people actually enjoying the music
- you're basing this one what...that one picture of people when it was still light out?monospaced

look at all that space:

Why are you not all going a little, just a little, bit crazy to see NIN?
- Dancer0
there is even a pic of some usher talking soft drinks into the "pit" on his head... ROCKIN!!!!
- you are still a bitter little BIATCH, the show rocked and so did the crowd...you're basing this on 1st song photos during the daymonospaced

wtf is it with seated gigs in the US? If I had to sit at a Jane's gig I wouldn't buy the ticket. That's just no fun at all.
- you're allowed to standmonospaced
- Stand? I want to fucking move around. Violently.moth
- You might break your hip.DrBombay

Bitter mono, bitter. Not me. Just commenting on the STATIC nature of the crowd. If you look at ALL the pics people just look like they're not having fun... I repeat ALL the pics.
As moth said "Stand? I want to fucking move around. Violently."
- trust me, it was fun
and I'm not bitter, I was at the show...rockin'monospaced - They're just not getting it are they?moth
- Nooooo you said I was bitterDancer
- nope. Note to self = outdoor gigs to respected bands in the US equals a game of musical statuesDancer
- There weren't any mosh pits, but there was more activity than the photos indicate.CyBrain
- trust me, it was fun
- Dancer0
You are very defensive Mono, I feel like I stepped on your toes. Admit it that from someone who was not at this gid it looks very dull.
the band looks like they're having fun though :)

Outdoor shows are boring
Trent must be a dick, it seems like he replaces his touring band every 6 months.
I like how Perry and Dave are all Hollywood glammed out and Eric is keeping it real in a T-shirt and shorts and he has the "I can't believe the things I do for money" look on his face.

^hahaha
Brilliant. Never seen a successful one
- monospaced0
Fine, we couldn't run around and mosh and get all crazy. And I guess that did take it down a notch. But mind you, the crowd did get into it and it wasn't as boring as the pictures make it out to be. Trust me.
- Yeah, it's just photography vs video. This would happen with photos of any show.CyBrain

NIN looks plenty boring and Janes Addiction looks more like Queen now a days...

Well everything is bolted down stadium seating at that venue, so you can't move around really. I can attest that there were two big, meathead steroid tattoo guys in front of me violently headbanging throughout both sets, and there was some weird hippie chick with her Richard Dreyfuss beardo-boyrfriend in a hoodie doing an ecstasy fueled interpretive dance/dry hump routine for the entire gig two rows ahead of me. That was rather..um...well...distasteful, but they were into it.

- looks like the new Star Trek moviefooler2
- ha! It does, doesn't it...TheBlueOne
- Maybe that's another reason I loved it.CyBrain

I don't know what is worse, people trying to mosh and headband at shows or the hippy serpent arm twirl around dance. Both annoying as hell. I prefer the head nod or shoe gaze dance myself.
- I'm a head nodder/occasional raised fist/air guitar guy. I stopped moshing at 32...TheBlueOne

i remember thinking, "wow, it sounds just like the nineties"
- moth0
Given that Jane's play far less in the UK, I reckon so.
I'll be leaving when NIN take to the stage.
- I"m not a big NIN fan, but they impressed me yesterday. Just sayin'.TheBlueOne
- You'll miss JA. They are the headliner on this tour!bump79
- moth0
I will never stop moshing. At least, not until I get tired and sit out a few tunes... or go and fetch a cup of tea.

Seeing NINJA on the 15th July in London. It's at the O2 unfortunately. At least I've got standing tickets though.
- You think it will rock harder there than for a NYC crowd?monospaced
- monospaced0
NIN plays first, btw.
