Ok, so i am trying to connect a PowerMac G5 wirelessly to my router.
To do that, I have purchased an Airport Express, which i thought i could hook up to my G5, via ethernet to make my G5 wireless...
But i don't think the airport can work like this, or can it? Do i just need an airport extreme card in the G5?
I realsise qbn is not a mac technical support forum but its the only place i can come to share my feelings.... cannot seem to find out things like this from the apple site.

I don't think you can do that. If you want your G5 to be wireless you'll need a wireless card.

Welded is right - you need an airport card in your G5 to pick up the signal from the Airport Express (which you just plug into your Broadband modem or router).
Once setup they are pretty damn good.

But saying that, I have used my Airport Express to provide an Ethernet connection over Wireless before, you just need 2 Airport Express'.
Modem/Broadband Router to Airport creates a Wifi signal then another Airport connected to G5 via Ethernet cable picks this up.

Ok so i think i just need an airport card thing (one of those things that they don't sell on the apple site anymore.... strangely enough)

Have a look at the Apple Forums - they are usually pretty quick to respond to any queries posted up!

Hang in there with the Airport Express though - they are awesome once up and running.
