I'm about to loose it. I have search for the past hour on the web regarding this, and I'm hoping someone here may have some insight.
I have an SD card that works fine in my Leica camera... take pictures, pictures get stored on SD card. All good here...
Now, when I connect the camera to my computer with the SD card in the camera I can get my photos off the camera, but I want to store some files on the SD card. When I try to put files on the SD card, it says it's 'write protected'. And before you ask, yes I have checked the that 'lock' on the side of the card isn't on.
When I 'get info' (mac) on the card, it indeed says I can 'only read' the contents.
I want to know how the heck I can unlock the SD Card so I can write to it, or format it. I can't even format it on my Mac! haha wtf.

My little SD camera needed to have the driver (and software) loaded from the CD that came with the camera, before my computer would recognize that it had any files on it. My computer (PC) would see the card... it just couldn't read it until I loaded the driver/software that came with the camera (or until I formatted the SD card)
- ..that's sticking the camera's SD card directly into the computer, not connected to the camera at all.ghandolf

get a card reader... a lot of cameras (my leica does it too) holds permissions for the images... i upgraded camera and found that i couldn't delete images in my new camera as they were created on a different camera...

I can't, for the life of me, imagine why you'd want to use your CAMERA'S SD card for file transfers. There are other, easier and smaller more efficient ways of doing this.
