do you own an iphone? do you like it? is it worth paying the extra monthly charge? or do you have some other device that you like better? please share your wisdom.

I have a palm centro that I'm pretty happy with.. the main reason i didn't get an iphone because when renewing my sprint contract i basically got the phone for free as opposed to spending $200-400 on an iphone.
- My phones main purpose is still to talk on it.. the other stuff is really unnecessaryd_rek

I also would like to hear this advice. Are those smartphones running the android software any good?

i really love it. typing on it took me a few days to master but i have no major, or any gripes. i don't care about not having copy/paste. I've never come across a time when I would use it. It's really a fantastic phone.

The way I look at a smart phone is this...
The main things I am looking to do on my phone are a) Talk on it and b) text on it... all the other superficial applications and whatnot are really unneccessary because I sit in front of a goddamn computer all day anyway.

going out of town , having google maps helps a ton on Iphone
as well as a nice browser never had any smart phone whet from Rzar to Iphone 1 , the free OS updates give a good shelf life

my main thing is being able to talk on it (of course), charge time (this is very important -- the G1 sucks in charge time), and having mobile access to GPS or similar web things while on the road.

in my opinion, and i am no fanboy, there is no better phone. Gizmodo reported that already all the benefits of the new Palm will be squashed with the next gen iPhone due in June.

my girl has an android and she loves it to death. I'm not sold on it, but then again i dont use it everyday.
I use an iphone and I love it. I'm def a mac user to the core, I'm sure that factors in somewhat. However, its a very fast device as far as computing goes, plays some sick ass games (resident evil: degeneration, assassins creed, terminator salvation, etc), and truly does have an app for everything. Its worth the cost if you have the dough. I paid off my car about a year ago and had the extra monthly cash so to me, its def worth it.
Plus, my folk's place in Ohio has no internet...its like the stone age. So the iphone keeps me sane when i visit :)

I have an iPhone and it's wonderful.
I've got a guitar tuner and a metronome set up in it. Also an app to track my time for billing, MindMapping software, a pretty good sequencer (BeatMaker), New York Times and Bloomberg news apps, YouTube, Bloom (great music software from Brian Eno), Stock tracking with charts, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn apps, and about 15 games to keep my 7 year old busy when we're stuck somewhere.
Can your phone do all that?
I figure anything else is just fucking around. But maybe I'm wrong.

i got an iphone and love it. Worth every penny to me.

think of it this way:
you're already willing to spend 50-60 bucks a month for JUST phone service.
if iphone is 100 bucks a month, subtract that 60 and you'll see that you're getting the same service you're normally getting, but for 40 bucks extra you're getting stuff like:
• gps and mapping (you'll never get lost again)
• all instant messengers
• email
• a full-fledged browser and everything the web offers
• everything that apps offer (good games, utilities, stupid shit to play with, shazam)
• an entire fucking ipod

you can fuck around with android and a hundred other knockoff wannabes, BUT WHY
iphones aren't really that expensive anymore and you use a mac anyway
