Motion Inspiration?

so our agency wants to position itself as the leader in a newish thing our industry calls "live movie posters". it's basically a large hd tv turned on its side that's installed into theatres, and the poster art is like a normal poster but is animated.
like a cross between a print poster and a trailer, but without film footage. (usually with this sort of thing we are supplied only with "unit photography", which are photos taken on set during filming. no video.)
we therefore have the challenge of creating compelling live posters using just motion graphics and said photography.
i'm new to AV and am eager to expand my motion vocabulary. not terms, but ways of presenting info, cool transitions, even some limited 3d.
fuck this is a long post.
my point is, anyone have any favorite blogs or sites that show this sort of thing that i can use for inspiration; like what's hot in motion graphics, cool techniques, etc.?

Sounds basically like the digital signage at malls and shit. Might want to look at things more tied to the signage world that straight up mo-graph.

i think the key to such things would be easter eggs that pop out and entertain from the edges behind text etc, maybe coop a sms campaign for free tickets, special showings etc. other than just seeing an animated poster, i think all people are going to think is "no wonder movies are so fucking expensive"

i think keeping the motion decent would have a chance to create something special (supposing that the static design is eye-catching enough by itself). things like slow transformation of the layout or changing of the lighting and colour within pictures. more using it as a subtextual support for the poster with a little bit of surprise than just another action-packed motion graphic. (that term has lost its luster anyway imho).
- motion graphic is a shit term. Always has beenbabaganush

you should cut them fast aswell, would look more like a movie depending on the movie of coarse

you could think of it like a flash banner maybe.

These would be funny if it was live footage of everyone holding their pose for the print poster for about an hour or so. They have to hold really still, but every now and then you see them getting really uncomfortable.
