Is this just a Flash bug?
**Warning** : Warning: 5004: The file '/Applications/Adobe Flash CS4/Common/Configuration/ActionS... 3.0/FP9/playerglobal.swc', which is required for typechecking ActionScript 3.0, could not be found. You may need to reinstall Flash.
Here's my entire .as code:
package {
public class mainBtn extends MovieClip {
public function mainBtn () {
trace("hello");
}
}
}If I check code, I get no errors. If I publish I get the error listed above. I checked my app folder and that .swc file is where it's supposed to be.

you do ask a lot of flash questions.
- That's how easy AS3 is to learn after years of AS2, where things used to work.CyBrain
- don't get mad. not everyone is as awesome as you. i only say that in jest of course..but you never answered my FS flash image shift question
lvl_13 - image shift question. :Plvl_13
- never saw it. fixed? as3 is a mystery to me too by the way cybrain.skt

sounds like a glitch. just to make sure, you could always rename the original file and target via new name way. probably wont make any difference, but at least you could see it was actually targeting the correct file path.

google says its an on/off problem
i blame it on your hacked version of flash
a receipt would illicit a call to adobe support

found this, wanted to make sure I was on the right track:
sounds like you renamed or deleted playerglobal.swc or you somehow changed your as3.0 publish settings..make sure that you have the playerglobal.swc in the ActionScript 3.0/Classes/playerglobal.swc of your Flash CS3 install directory.
If it is in there, make sure you didn't delete the line $(AppConfig)/ActionScript 3.0/Classes from your ActionScript 3.0 publish settings

So, here's another cause, symptom or result of my problems.
When I put a class on a movie clip in the library, the default base class disappears. (flash.display.MovieClip)

Make sure you click Library path on that screen which should then show you: $(AppConfig)/ActionScript 3.0/Classes
If not look in your installation directory under Applications/Flash CS3/3.0/Classes/
to make sure the playerglobal.swc is thereOr CS4, whatever version you have.

I checked that library tab. $(AppConfig)/ActionScript 3.0/Classes was already there. When I published my movie I got no errors any my trace "Hello" came up for all 7 buttons. However, when I'm in the .as file and I test it, I still get the same **Warning** : Warning: 5004: ...
I'll take it for now, so long as my script keeps working.
Here's the location of that .swc file.
