The big irony in all of this is that... like 10 years ago GM opted to buy 20% of FIAT, but then fiat did quite bad and when it was the time for GM to honor the contract they drop out, paying FIAT loads of money (so stated the contract) with that money FIAT got back in shape and now bought 35% of Chrysler and was about to buy a Opel (GM).

No, the big irony is that they used kept insisting for years and years and years that they knew what they were doing, they were smarter than everyone else, and they couldn't change their winning formula, or drop any or their illustrious brands that had so much caché in the market.
