Anyone have a good form letter for this? I'm so effing tired of hearing them use the word 'edgy' to describe what they want from me.
Effing drat!

Hmmm ... do we have the same client? Mine wanted something that was "Edgy and Cool"

edgy = a description for whatever they might happen to want, regardless of edginess

I want it to be FIERCE! You know that really descriptive term used by every person on reality TV and hence every bod watching.

Present your creative with a headline that says "GO FUCK YOURSELF" in enormous point size and then watch them recoil in horror.
They might just start using different terms to describe what they want.

ask the what they mean- have you not done this yet?
If you don't know what they mean then how can you do the work?
- Not only have I asked what they mean but also for them to provide examples... I just get blank stares.d_rek
- tell them you can't do what they don't even know then. end of story.doesnotexist

Why don't you explain to them that they might have picked the wrong person to do their work?

If someone told me they wanted somehting edgy, I would slap a few syringes on it, some very young looking girls with thier panties down on it and some guys with their tops off bare knuckle fighting, all with spray paint drops and rubber stamp style text all over it, with some misspelt swearwords on it. If they didn't like it I would tone it down a bit but just a little bit.
- if they didn't get it, then they're probably too old.Gucci
