Client is curator for a contemporary art museum and wants design that is "Edgy and Cool", yet has provided no examples. Since this is so open-ended and subjective, i thought I might ask the fine folks here their thoughts on the subject.

they probably want something zinish on newsprint with blocks of washed out color, serifs mixed with monospaced fonts, diagonal lines, mixed symmetrical and assymetrical type, found imagery and ironic use of ugly display type

Take a look at the new signage for MoMA, designed by Paula Scher. I think it fits both edgy and cool.
