I need to know if there is an easy way of transferring an iTunes library from one account to another on the same mac.
cheers

you mean all your purchased tracks?

I set up my iTunes folder in a shared directory then pointed both accounts to it. Works pretty well.

yeah its my music but on my partners MBP, we like different kinds of music and causes probs when plugging in iphone etc as my music goes on their device, I know you can uncheck selected songs but it would be easier to create my own account. I should have done this from the beginning but...

just copy your itunes folder and then when opening itunes hold down the option key. It should ask you to locate your itunes library. Select the copied one and you are set.
also as a suggestion I often put my music on a drive and only keep my library assets minus the music in the music folder on the computer.

for itunes purchased music you will either have to authorize each file, burn to cd then reimport, or upgrade to the free drm versions before you transfer the files.
