Hei hei,
does anyone have worked with MacBook Air? Is it ok for Lightroom and +/- photoshop/illustrator work? I'm asking about your opinion, cause I need to buy a new mac (MB keeps braking down) and I'm wondering should I buy a MBA or MBP the aluminum, not the unibody, one. I would like to buy new iMac, but I'm constantly moving from place to place...
Thank you for your opinion :)

don't buy it. it's for attention whores only. get a real powerbook with a slot in it.

I've heard that the mba sucks for graphics

yes, I think I'm getting pro. not sure about unibody, cause I'm still a student, so it's over my budget. dvd drive is not a concern - I barely use it..
Thanks :)

If you have an external monitor get a Macbook.

It's a perfect solution for someone who has to carry their laptop with them a lot. It is light. Very light. It is flat too - just as every single computer should be and will be in a few years.
Not very suitable for graphic work, but mostly due to low screen resolution, not computing power. Same for MacBook 13.3" - makes sense for design/dev work with an external screen attached.
Having said that, I actually took a 13.3" MB on trips to do remote updates for clients. It did ok, but it could have a bigger screen and a kilogram less of weight.
MBA does weight a kilogram less..
Actually, I would take an Air with me on every trip if I had one.*scratches head (with credit card)

Maybe I will think about it, but I'm not big fan of it. I have a MacBook and after three years use, the charger is acting weird, after newest software update my superdrive died! and now the cracks in the casing started to appear.. I used to have powerbooks, there were more decent, tho the Titanium one I loved the most... :) Still sentiments, but the PB titanium and the panther os was the best combo. I never had a crash. and now with intel apple is less and less a quality product.. anyway, it's offtopic.
thanks for you comments, I drooped MacBook air from my head. :)

I'd say MacBook Pro. Macbook Air is the iPod of laptops.

We had a heated discussion on it when it came out. Designers don't get the simplest thing: this computer is not meant for them. It's not supposed to run After Effect, it is supposed to be light and thin.

why not just get a PC. its cheaper, and i find all adobe stuff runs better on vista. not sure about lightwave. if my work would allow it id trade my 17" mbp for a 15" acer. might not be the prettiest on the outside but the performance/hardware is solid. this would be tits http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pr…
- YEAH, AND WITH ALL OF THAT NORTON STUFF THAT YOU WILL NEED. IT REALLY GOES FAST. LOL.akrokdesign
