It's a perfect solution for someone who has to carry their laptop with them a lot. It is light. Very light. It is flat too - just as every single computer should be and will be in a few years.
Not very suitable for graphic work, but mostly due to low screen resolution, not computing power. Same for MacBook 13.3" - makes sense for design/dev work with an external screen attached.
Having said that, I actually took a 13.3" MB on trips to do remote updates for clients. It did ok, but it could have a bigger screen and a kilogram less of weight.
MBA does weight a kilogram less..
Actually, I would take an Air with me on every trip if I had one.
