This may be easier than I think it -
the songs in my itunes library is now linked to two separate drives - A & B.
I want to transfer all the stuff from A & B to a new drive, C.
After I do that, how do I redirect the songs to C but retain the same library, playlists, etc?
thx in advance.

pain in the ass. i am sure you have to redirect each one.

yeah, just move them all to drive C. then go preference in itunes. advance, and select the correct folder which you now have on drive C.
i would keep them in their folders. don't move that. like move the whole itunes music folder first.

and then afterwards I'd have to redirect each one sort of

be careful on a mac as if you have the same folder names it will just write one over the other, unlike on a pc where they merge (i think)
can't you just go to 'advanced' and select the new drive as where you want files to be kept, and then choose 'consolidate library' then iTunes copies them all to the new drive (i think!!)

its shit like this why i hate itunes.
itunes also sucks hard over samba.

It's one of a few reasons I hate iTunes...
I have had to re-do 3 iTunes folders for various people, and they were all a massive pain in the arse. As the others have said, unless you're moving the whole itunes music folder, you're probably going to end up missing something. It hasn't worked perfectly for me once yet. That said, I don't have anything else particularly constructive to offer, there weren't any 'special tricks' I found that made it any easier. Good luck.
- well i will be moving the entire folders. I'm just worried what will happen to my playlist after thatusrper

if you are moving them, itunes will ask where the files are. i had to rename my external drives to the same name so it could figure it out and play.

consolidate library - only thing you need..
