oh my. like what size? do you want ones that are beyond the grasp of the majors, or the "indie" labels that are really just subsidaries of the biggies?

Hmm. I am in a very unknown "indie" band - Golden Holy to be precise. No majors. No subsidaries of majors. Or maybe ones that are in deep deep denial?

start your own.
unless you have some recognition (ie. press releases, proven ticket sales, internet fame (;), an enormous amount of twitter followers :), you ain't got shit. too many bands. too little time. and more importantly, too many record labels going out of business because of lack of funds.

As someone who has run a label for about five years.. with on and off success. I would recommend the following.
1. release an album as a free download.
2. tell blogs around the world about it.
3. let lots of people download it.the following will happen if you are good and people like your music.
1. you will have an audience that will come to your shows.
2. record labels will come to you.
