This is supposed to be really good, i tried to go see it when it came to SF a few months back, but I could not get tickets.

i saw it last week on public television. i didn't catch the first half of it, but the second half didn't really seem that great. it didn't seem to show much insight into gang life at all...but maybe i wasn't paying close enough attention.

I think the main difference between this and other gang documentaries is that this one is not focusing on "gang life" like initiation rituals, codes, convictions and stuff like that, which you can see on most movies anyways, this one focuses more on its roots as a cultural problem.
